University of Nevada Las Vegas

The University of Nevada at Las Vegas is a public research university located approximately 1.5 miles east of the Las Vegas Strip.  The main campus sits on 332 surprisingly lush acres with large grassy areas, shade trees, and high desert plants. UNLV is one of only two designated arboretums in Nevada and the grounds are often referred to as the Emerald in the Desert.

22,708 undergraduates attend UNLV with mid-50% SAT CR+M scores of 910-1140 and ACT composite scores of 19-24.  The university has nine undergraduate colleges and the most popular majors are business, communications and education.  Unique programs include a Bachelor of Science in Entertainment and Engineering Design (EED) and Gaming Management. EED combines technical theater and engineering to prepare students for work in the entertainment industry. Internships are required and students have interned at companies such as Cirque du Soleil and Wet Design.

UNLV supports 17 different NCAA Division 1 varsity teams and full-time students have free access to all home sporting events.  The UNLV Rebels are known for their competitive men’s basketball and golf programs.

Merit and Western Undergraduate Exchange (WUE) scholarships are offered to qualified students.
